Position Responsibilities: Works in conjunction with the Director of Library Services and other library staff to form a team that is concerned with the smooth and efficient operation of the library as a unit of the University. Also supervises the Student Workers ensuring that the library functions run as smoothly as possible. Administrative filing, records and reports, special projects, office housekeeping and student worker training are monitored and supervised by this position. Also includes working with Reserves and Media Booking to support faculty and students.

The City of Redwood Falls is seeking a creative, outgoing and energetic full-time Children's Librarian/Assistant Library Director. Position requires a flexible schedule, ability to work independently in operating the Children's Department and supervise the work of others in the Library Director's absence.
Work involves juvenile library collection development and maintenance, providing standard library service, programming for children and teens and aiding the Library Director. Works with staff in performing the computer technician duties of the Library.
A degree in library science, education or related field preferred. Experience with children and knowledge of children's literature preferred. This seven-week online workshop provides a substantial introduction to creating and managing descriptive metadata for digital collections in libraries, archives, and museums. It includes hands-on exercises in creating metadata for digital images and other resources using Dublin Core and MODS, and to a lesser extent, VRA. Participants will be introduced to commonly-used controlled vocabularies for digital collections, as well as to XML, OAI, metadata harvesting, mapping, interoperability, and quality, and to metadata in the context of Linked Data and the Semantic Web. The workshop will also cover metadata standards selection, local metadata scheme design, and documentation in the form of application profiles.
