This position is Full Time, Regular, 40 Hours per Week

 

Job Duties:Wilder Research, a division of the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation in Saint Paul, Minnesota, seeks a skilled researcher to contribute to Minnesota Compass (www.MNCompass.org) and related projects.
This position's responsibilities include:
Gathering, managing, and analyzing large datasets from secondary sources for Minnesota Compass and related research projects
Preparing tables and charts based on data analysis
Assisting with preparation, synthesis, and presentation of study results to clients and other stakeholders, which may include technical writing, blog-style posts, and presentations
Participating as part of the Minnesota Compass team in carrying out activities to educate policy makers, community leaders, foundations, and other decision makers
Job Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a behavioral or social science, or applied research field. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, and finalist candidates may be tested on essential skills in Excel at the time of the interview.
In addition, candidates must be:
Attentive to detail and able to demonstrate strategies for checking their work
Organized and efficient, and able to work on tight timelines and manage multiple tasks
Able to work independently with moderate or minimal direction
Able to take work direction from multiple staff (depending on the task)
Able to accept feedback and revise work accordingly
Candidates with experience in any of the following are especially encouraged to apply:
Demographic data and/or social indicators, including government data sources (e.g., U.S. Census Bureau)
Other statistical and/or data management software, in addition to demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel
GIS, mapping, and related software packages (e.g., ArcGIS)
Small area or neighborhood-level analysis
Direct experience working in diverse community settings or with particular communities, including American Indian communities and/or tribal representatives of Native Nations

Branch Out Library Conference of Minnesota

Branch Out is a conference designed by and for library paraprofessionals and support staff. Its purpose is to bring library staff from all around Minnesota and the surrounding region together for career development and networking opportunities.

Conference details: 
 2015 Branch Out will be Wednesday, July 15 and Thursday, July 16, 2015.
 It will be held at the Grand Hall of the Business and Technology Center at North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.

Cost for two day conference is: Early Bird Registration $129.00 for registration by July 8, 2015 and $149.00 after July 8, 2015.
