MN Job Posting: Temporary, Full-Time Library Technician



MnDOT Library – Minnesota Dept. of Transportation
Library Technician
Full time, Temporary position for 6 months, with a possibility of renewing for an additional 6 months.
Starting date:  Mid-March.  Training will be provided by the incumbent
Hours of work:  8:00a.m. - 4:30p.m., Monday through Friday
Location: The library is located in the Transportation Building, 395 John Ireland Blvd., St. Paul.  It is near the State Capitol and across Rice St. from Sears.
Benefits:  Benefits include insurance.  There is no sick or vacation leave, but we are willing to discuss unpaid time off if needed.

Duties include:
·         1.5 – 2 hour shift on the reference desk 4-5 days a week
·         Performing interlibrary loans using MnPALS and OCLC
·         Copy Cataloging
·         Managing the library’s periodicals collection including receiving, claims, and some routing
·         Circulation – checking materials in and out, and processing holds and overdues
·         Managing distribution lists
