Business reference may be the most intimidating interaction librarians face on the reference desk. This one-hour session will take the fear out of business reference by breaking the broad concept of business research down into three simple tasks that will answer most of your patrons' questions: industry, company, and customer research. We'll use government sources (like the Economic Census and Consumer Expenditure Survey), industry associations (for detailed industry and customer data), and widely-available library databases (like EBSCO Business Source Premier and ReferenceUSA) to ensure that your next business reference transaction is confidently executed.
