Cataloging Technician – O’Shaughnessy Frey Library

The University of St. Thomas is accepting applications for a Cataloging Technician in the O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library.

Duties include: organizing information resources available to students and faculty through the university's libraries and other sources: identify the appropriate bibliographic record for each owned item and attaching our holdings to that record. All materials, regardless of format, received in any fiscal year are expected to be reflected in the online catalogs. Participating in maintaining and enhancing the bibliographic database containing over 2 million bibliographic records and 3 million items are critical parts of this position.

Qualifications: High school or equivalent required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. Minimum of one year related library experience, preferably in cataloging in an academic institution.

We are looking for candidates with the ability to use word processing and spreadsheet software; working knowledge of library automated systems especially the cataloging module, III preferred; experience with OCLC; experience with mending and book conservation preferred; and previous supervisory experience.
