Volunteer for the 2012 MLA Annual Conference

Help plan the MLA 2012 Annual Conference!

The Minnesota Library Association 2011 Annual Conference planning team was full of fun, creative, talented, passionate, friendly people who helped produce an amazing three-day event. You can help us make 2012 even better!

Join the 2012 Annual Conference planning team! We’re looking for volunteers with the passion, skills, and/or knowledge to help us with:
  • Keynote/featured speakers – Polish up those people skills! Help select and work with the luncheon keynote and other speakers with broad appeal from outside the Minnesota library community.
  • Local arrangements – Bring your knowledge of and passion for interesting things to see and do around St. Paul. Help with a wide variety of projects aimed at welcoming (and introducing) attendees to the area and assist with other conference details.
  • Volunteer coordination – Apply your talent for people management: Help recruit and schedule volunteers and/or provide volunteer support during the conference.
You don’t need to live or work in the Twin Cities area to be involved—our planning team meetings can be attended by phone. Nor do you have to attend the conference—there’s plenty to be done before the event, and there are ways to “telesupport” the conference day-of.

To express your interest in applying your talents to planning the 2012 Annual Conference, please complete our volunteer interest form by Tuesday, February 28.

All respondents will be contacted by Monday, March 5. I and the rest of the planning team hope to hear from you!
