The Cataloging &
Acquisitions Associate provides and maintains access to new and existing
materials (such as books, e-books, DVDs and other media) in support of the
college curriculum and the Bridge Consortium.
This is a one-year
full-time temporary position with excellent benefits package. Salary will be
$31,500 - 35,000 or more, depending on qualifications. This position would be perfect
for a recent grad or current LIT student who has completed coursework in
cataloging. This is a full-time 40
hour/week position but the weekly schedule can be flexible if needed in terms
of working some evenings or weekends.
Essential Education:
•Bachelor’s degree or
Certificate in Library Studies
Essential Experience:
•Copy-cataloging
experience or coursework
•Understanding of the
principles of cataloging, subject analysis, classification, and authority
control including recognized rules and standards (AACR2, RDA, LCRIs, LCSH, LCC,
and MARC)
•Basic knowledge of one
or more foreign languages
