The Position
This internship
will be one of the following two projects:
1.
Identification and
description of historic slide collection (1950s-1990s) of Minneapolis scenes.
This will include historical research, metadata creation, and digitization.
2.
Develop slide shows
or other audio-visual presentations from historical content for online
presentation. (e.g. YouTube)
This unpaid
internship is for the duration of one semester, June-August 2014, 8- 16 hours
per week. It can be used for college credit or work experience.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities may include:

On-site photography of buildings, streets and intersections in
Minneapolis
·
Metadata creation using Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access.
·
Digitization using scanners and/or digital editing software
·
Presentation of digital content using social media services
Minimum Qualifications:
· Experience with digital photography and
digital image editing
· Have not completed an internship with Hennepin County Library in the
past
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience working with and describing
archival collections
