Working Title: Information Specialist
The Central MN Libraries Exchange (CMLE), housed at St. Cloud State University, provides library support services to nearly 300 academic, K-12, public, and special libraries in Central Minnesota. CMLE is one of seven MN multitype library systems, and is a grant-supported nonprofit organization.
General Responsibilities
- Oversight of an interlibrary loan service including supervision of student workers
- Library communications and marketing activities across multiple venues
- Development of online tutorials, instructional materials, and/or Webinars
- Events planning and implementation
- Records management and budget administration
Required Skills
- Demonstrated ability to use advanced features of Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word.
- Comfort with computers and ability and ongoing interest in using new technologies, including Web 2.0 tools.
- Ability to work with member libraries to troubleshoot technical communication issues as they relate to filters, internal server settings, spam settings, and junk email folders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to be used across multiple venues including but not limited to, library specific workshops, email, newsletters, blogs, nings, websites, online tutorials and webinars, and other print documents.
- Ability to navigate and use various library specific tools to verify bibliographic citations
- Excellent customer-service skills
- Knowledge of budgets and expense management
- Proficiency using desktop publishing software
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, organize efficiently, manage/coordinate multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and make appropriate decisions
- Must be detail oriented
- Ability to travel to events locally and outstate where public transportation may or may not be available.
Preferred Skills
- Demonstrate an understanding of the research process and an understanding of educational environments
- Experience using ExLibris Aleph software
- Experience and/or working knowledge of Quick Books software
- Experience as a trainer or in a teaching environment
Minimum Qualifications: This position requires three years of increasingly responsible related experience and/or a background in an educational setting. Coursework toward a degree in Library Science or Library Media will be a relevant consideration.
Hours: 40 hours per week, with occasional evening or weekend events
Salary: $16.17-$22.76 hourly, $33,763 - $47,523 annually (depending on experience)
