Description: Provide organization of instructional media and technology by organizing and supporting online resources and library catalogs.

Job Summary:

1) Online Resource Support

a) Support and maintain online educational resources

i. Moodle (Learning Management System).

ii. Identified and implemented online educational resources including Google Docs, WordPress, ePals, Learn360.

iii. Web 2.0 tools for hybrid and online educational learning environments.

iv. ELM (Electronic Library of Minnesota) databases

v. Follett Destiny Library Manager and Textbook Manager

vi. Subscription databases

b) Maintain currency of passwords and access

c) Communicate with providers regarding updates, access, and other pertinent information

d) Provide and/or support training for technology-based learning tools.

e) Participate in the design, development and sustainability of a web-based learning and information portal.

f) Create websites for departments and projects as needed using Google Sites.

g) Compile data for reports and support.

h) Work with curriculum department, business and resource managers to assist with textbook distribution and circulation, using Follett Destiny Textbook Manager.

i) Provide acquisition, renewal, receiving, and claim services of periodicals/memberships for District Professional Collection.


2) Research topics related to information literacy and technology to support administrators and staff.

3) Provide tech support as needed for Educational Service Center.

4) Other duties as assigned by the Instructional Media & Technology Coordinator.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in system development using Web 2.0 applications technologies and content management system product development

    o Moodle

    o Google Apps

    o WordPress

  • Knowledge of Moodle 2.1
  • Experience with PHP/HTML
  • Experience providing technical support, both hardware and software, to meet department and building needs.
  • Experience supporting applications for mobile devices helpful.
  • Apache experience preferred.
  • Education and/or library experience preferred

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

  • High level of comfort and skill in the use of a variety of software packages and online resources

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, under pressure, maintain accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Job Type: Full-Time

Bargaining Unit: Communications III

Salary Range: Per Contract
