Library Weekend/Periodicals Supervisor
Berntsen Library; 3/4-time
Position Summary: Provide interactive patron reference services during all weekend and some weekday hours. Participate in reference service development and enhancement. Create and maintain information tools. Recommend acquisitions based on reference interactions. Supervise circulation services during weekend hours. Supervise weekend student personnel and assist Circulation Supervisor with training student workers as necessary. Communicate with the Director regarding unique service needs for weekend patrons in a timely manner. Respond to security issues and follow procedures appropriately. Manage the periodicals collection. Responsible for periodicals' shelf maintenance and space planning. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures. Establish and maintain relationships with vendors. Participate in development of the periodicals collection with direction from the Library Director and in coordination with the E-Resources Librarian. Work collaboratively with the E-Resources and Cataloging Librarians for access related to print periodicals and to e-periodicals.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; a minimum one year of related library experience preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
