LIBT1410: Topics in Library and Information Technology 

Special Topic: Cloud Computing, 1 credit

This topics course will introduce the world of cloud computing: Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Software as a Service. In this course, you will learn about the delivery of information technology resources through the Internet (i.e., “the cloud”), rather than through hardware and software installed locally on personal computers. Backup drives, servers, virtual machines, operating systems, apps ... they can all live out in the cloud now instead of on your home or workplace computers and this course will explore the implications of adopting cloud computing services, for libraries and their patrons.
