St. Mary's University Twin Cities - Job Posting

Description of Positions
Join a dynamic, innovative, and friendly team! St. Mary's University Twin Cities Library is a small academic library that is dedicated to user-driven services and continuous improvement. The library serves 4,500 diverse adult learners enrolled in programs ranging from Associate's to Doctoral degrees.

Twin Cities Library currently has two Library Services Coordinator positions open.

Position #1:
The .5 FTE Library Services Coordinator provides reference, circulation, and technical services to all areas of the Schools of Graduate and Professional Programs administered from Twin Cities Library. This position is .5 FTE, 20 hours per week. Hours will be tentatively scheduled for Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Position #2:
The .3 FTE Library Services Coordinator provides reference and circulation services to all areas of the Schools of Graduate and Professional Programs administered from Twin Cities Library. This position is .3 FTE, 12 hours per week. Hours will be tentatively scheduled for Monday through Thursday, 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Responsibilities:
Position #1:
Specific duties and responsibilities of the .5 FTE Library Services Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing reference and circulation services.
  • Processing interlibrary loan requests.
  • Managing holds, overdues, bills, and copyright reconciliation.
  • Organizing and carrying out shelf check and weeding projects.
  • Repairing damaged materials.
  • Managing faculty and student reserves.
  • Collecting interlibrary loan and billing statistics.
  • Maintaining documentation related to interlibrary loan and reserves processes.
  • Staying current on procedures related to responsibilities.
Position #2:
Specific duties and responsibilities of the .3 FTE Library Services Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing reference and circulation services.
  • Monitoring eBrarian discussion boards in the Blackboard course management system.
  • Logging reference and instructional data.
  • Participating in shelf check and weeding projects.
  • Repairing damaged materials.
  • Creating book displays.
  • Developing and maintaining library web pages.
  • Staying current on procedures related to responsibilities.
Essential Skills and Functions
Position #1 and Position #2:
  • Ability to work with diverse adult and distance learners.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to use basic computer software programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, oral, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience
Position #1 and Position #2:
  • Associate’s degree is required, Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Experience with electronic library resources required.
  • Experience assisting users with library databases, reference, and circulation inquiries in an academic library preferred.
  • Experience with ALEPH ILS preferred.
  • Experience using interlibrary loan systems such as OCLC and ALEPH ILL preferred for Position #1.
